Coronavirus Policy Statement

Dear Partner,

We are poised to help as we can with the unknowns that the COVID-19 virus has brought on our industry.  We have been trying to stay on top of supplier reactions, and potential policy changes effecting summer 2020 bookings.  Our summer operating season is still a few months away, and many businesses are at great risk, so this is a tenuous situation for all.   Rest assured, we take our mutual guest’s health and safety concerns as paramount.  At this time, we’d like to ensure you and your clients that 2020 trips will operate as planned.  Currently, some Alaska suppliers are relaxing their cancelation terms, but most still consider cancellations as voluntary and will enforce original policies.  This is a day to day situation and supplier considerations can change at any time.  Bottom line is there is no “one size fits all” solution.

As you know, Alaska supplier terms are harsher in comparison to other parts of the world due to our short operating season and the fact that there is little last-minute demand for our destination.  For our part we will work to minimize hardships during this time of uncertainty and treat cancellations or postponement requests on a case by case basis.  We will do our best to minimize cancellation fees, push for no fee date changes or offer travel credits carrying over to 2021 on payments made for 2020 booking where possible.  However, if a travel date is moved to 2021 there may be price differences that will apply which are unknown at this point.  What we will carry forward is a USD credit in the amount received but cannot guarantee all services as currently planned.

Thank you for your business and understanding.

Stay safe and well!

Best regards from the entire AAT Team
